Winter in the Blood - Forest Fires - Cassette Tape + Digital Download
Cassette + Digital Album
Winter in the Blood (Portland, OR) ignite a monolith of musical ferocity with their debut, Forest Fires. This aural assault burns with the same intensity as a forest fire. The album begins with a malignant spark and soon catches and devours with abandon. Twisted, guttural voices align with wretched screams. The guitar riffs build a fantastically dark mood in their trance inducing straight forward approach. The drums are an ominous battery, the rhythms to apocalypse.
Catch this heathen release, inspired by the mystery and grandeur of Pacific Northwest nature.

Mikolaj is a real multi-talent in bass as well as guitar as well as vocals and "Darkside" Maciej's drumming is a well-calibrated 100th-of-seconds-clockwork. Not for nothing is Mgla considered as a standard for a lot of other blacker-than-black metal bands. I hope to see this band live once..... grote_smurf
Swirling guitars, furious drums, vocals that at the same time howl from infinite distance and are right up in your head; everything put into dissonant form with the help of unconventional songwriting. This album is my personal key to the icelanding black metal madness that I've ignored for way too long! Lukas Kaufmann
Not gonna lie, I don't usually go in for the super composed, melodic flavor of black metal. That said, I'm thoroughly enjoying this release. Gives kinda an Old Man's Child type vibe. Ghuughra
